We offer General English and exam preparation courses all year round with courses starting every Monday. Classes are available for anyone over 16 years old.
What to expect
We offer a 15 or 30-hour option and you can choose the one that suits your schedule and budget*.
Classes focus on developing your English language skills for everyday life situations. Teachers prepare lessons that are interesting, helpful and challenging for the students depending on the focus of the class. Every class uses a course book but the teacher will also use materials from other sources to keep the content relevant and up-to-date. Most importantly, there will be a lot of opportunity to practise speaking with other students and the teacher.
We want students to achieve the best they can and believe this happens when they are actively involved in their learning and they are challenged and motivated by their studies.
Once a month students have the opportunity to discuss their learning progress and needs with their teacher in a one-to-one tutorial.
Exam preparation classes at Insight Study focus on two aspects:
a) the language that is required for students to pass the exam successfully and
b) an in-depth understanding of the exam and learning useful exam strategies to take the exam with confidence.
It is important to understand that although all examinations test language every test does it in different ways. Consultation with the Academic Manager is strongly advised to discuss the choice of exam you would like to study towards as well as the academic requirements for this exam.

What to expect as an adult learner at Insight Study Greenwich
When you make your booking you will need to complete a registration form, and on the first day of school you will be asked to take a placement test. The test involves a multiple choice grammar and listening test. At the end of your test you will have a short interview with one of our academic staff. This way we can make sure that you are placed in the correct level.
Student welfare is very important to us and we do not mix junior students (under 16’s) with our adult students. Our young learners are taught off-site in a separate building using a syllabus designed specifically for young learners.
We use the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) for our courses and the table below gives an overview of English levels and student ability at each level.
Which exam is right for me?
The international English language testing system (IELTS) is the world’s most popular English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration, with over 2.9 million tests taken in the last year.
IELTS assesses all of your English skills — reading, writing, listening and speaking, and is designed to reflect how you will use English at study, at work, and at play, in your new life abroad.
