The young learner programme is designed for learners aged 10 to 17. The focus is on developing communication skills through speaking, listening, writing and reading. Grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary work are integral parts of the lessons, too. Our teachers prepare lessons with the interests and needs of the students in mind.

Classes are engaging with fun activities and topics suited to age and level and, most importantly, summer course students will not be doing the same thing twice in class regardless of how many weeks they have enrolled for.

Students receive a certificate of achievement at the end of their course and a final report with comments on their progress during the course.

But it’s not all about the classroom.

We also offer interesting and fun activities and excursions. We will arrange afternoon guided walks into central London and take you sightseeing to the most iconic of London’s attractions – and some not so famous, yet interesting, ones, too!

In the evenings we arrange discos, karaoke parties, quiz nights, talent shows and, for those with bags of energy, we offer sporting events.

All events and excursions are accompanied by our activity staff to ensure that the students are looked after and engaged throughout their time with us.

Locations

Young learner courses are held off-site at either the University of Greenwich or the Trinity Laban Centre. In 2018 we will have the University of Greenwich Medway Campus as our second centre.

The minimum booking for the course is one week and the maximum is six weeks.

We are a registered Trinity College exam centre and can offer Trinity GESE exams as part of our summer courses.

Homestay from £495 per week

Students are provided with safe, comfortable homestay. Group travel students will be transferred by private coach or taxi from the airport to their host families.

Homestay accommodation provides students with an excellent opportunity to improve their English while eating breakfast or dinner.

Junior students are placed in host families on a full board basis, including a continental breakfast, packed lunch and dinner each day. Students with allergies or special requirements will be provided with appropriate meals and housing solution.

Residence from £745 per week

Staying at a university campus can be an exciting and rewarding experience. Students will be living, studying and travelling around London with fellow students from across the world, giving them opportunity to learn about other cultures, practise their English, exchange cultural information and make friends.

We use university campuses that host home students during the academic year. Accommodation, classrooms and canteen are usually all within walking distance and our staff are always at hand to ensure the students are in a safe and friendly environment.

All meals are included during your stay served either on campus or at a chosen restaurant near the residence.

We ensure Insight Study staff are onsite 24 hours a day and we have a dedicated 24-hour emergency number for parents, students and teachers.

Course-only option £155 per week

We offer parents and guardians living in London a course-only option to enrol their children for English lessons (without accommodation and activities).

This is a very popular option, and you can add on the activity programme at a later stage, or alternate week by week.

Available add-ons: Activity programme – 5 days of supervised afternoon activities – £105.00 per week (13.30 – 18.00)

For weekly travel cards, see TFL Website for latest rates
